The aim of this project was to re-develop Tomintoul Museum in to a fit-for-purpose Discovery Centre, to showcase local heritage, culture and landscape. The Museum collections were started in 1976 when an exhibition of items were gathered to celebrate Tomintoul’s bicentenary, and moved to its present site in 1978. The projects primary purpose is to encourage and enthuse tourists and visitors to explore and discover the Tomintoul and Glenlivet area within the Cairngorms National Park, and to promote local tourism and support local businesses within the area.
