JOIN US AND LEAD OUR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT MISSION
It’s official we are searching for a new manager. Nancy Chambers leaves her position next months after seven years in her post.
During that time, she has overseen the distribution of hundreds of thousands of pounds to hundreds of projects across the park.
This includes the establishment of the Active Cairngorms E-Bike Scheme (ACE Bikes) in Aviemore, which offers the chance to borrow an electric bike as part of efforts to reduce reliance on cars.
Nancy said: “The Trust has distributed more than £2 million to nearly 300 projects throughout the Cairngorms since 2016. That’s a powerful legacy—and one that’s visible in almost every community across the area. Whether it’s a nature restoration initiative, a local heritage project, or a community hub, the Trust has helped make it happen.
She added: “I’m proud of what we’ve achieved and sad to be leaving. But this is the perfect time for someone to bring fresh energy and vision to the Trust.
“I feel confident that the Trust is in a strong and positive place. It’s reputation is established and growing, and there is so much potential for the future. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is passionate about community development, the natural environment, and making a tangible difference in the Cairngorms.

Nancy described her role as “dynamic and rewarding, with the opportunity to have a real impact on communities”.
She added: “I know the next Trust Manager will bring their own ideas to the role, and continue to build a vibrant, community-focused organisation that supports amazing projects across this unique and beautiful region.”
Trust chair Roger Clegg said: “Nancy has been very committed to supporting both the Trust and the community projects it funds and she really has helped to make a difference. She has worked tirelessly to build the profile of the Trust, such that there is now an excellent opportunity for her successor to continue her work in expanding the reach and range of the Trust’s activities throughout the Park.
“The Trustees wish Nancy all the best for the future and look forward in due course. to working with the new manager.”
