We are partnering with the Cairngorms National Park Authority for a new fund: the Communities and Cultural Heritage Fund.
This £50,000 pot aims to support community-led planning and development, enabling citizens to achieve their aspirations and enhance community resilience. Many communities across the park area have been updating their Community Action Plans in recent months, a document that allows them to identify the priorities and issues that are important to them for the next decade.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The fund is open to community councils, community development trusts and other community organisations in the Cairngorms National Park. The application process is also open to community interest companies, sole traders and micro businesses whose project benefits communities in the park area.
Revenue and capital grants are available and projects must support the following two aims in the Community Action Plan:
- A culturally vibrant community – projects that support and celebrate the unique identity and heritage of communities e.g. community spaces, features, buildings, people, traditions.
- A socially connected community – projects that support communities to be happy, healthy, accessible and inclusive e.g. improving facilities, amenities, spaces, events and housing.
Applications will be considered for awards ranging from £2,500 to £10,000 and projects must be completed by February 10 2027.
