Kingussie Path Network Improvement Project

Help Kingussie repair and upgrade their path network, linking Newtonmore through to Lynchat.

The path network around Kingussie and linking to Newtonmore and Lynchat is in need of repair and upgrade. This project aims to repair, resurface and re-route if necessary some of the priority sections identified by the recent survey conducted by KCDC volunteer members.

This includes path reconstruction on a severely eroded and poorly drained section of the popular Creag Bheag route. Including drainage and fallen tree removal. Bridge Replacement over the Alt Gortan to facilitate connection to the Newtonmore path network. Management of fallen trees in the woodland approach to the Raitts Path. Installation of safer and more convenient crossing of streams – small bridges / decking / stepping stones at various locations.

Replacement and upgrade of the signage along the eight local marked paths.
