Since the start of the Active Cairngorms E-Bike Project the aim has always been to have a variety of e-bike styles available to take on loan.
The project now has available to loan a ‘front style’ cargo e-bike. With additional cargo e-bikes arriving in the next few months.
This is available for individuals and businesses from Dalwhinnie through Badenoch & Strathspey and Tomintoul and Glenlivet to try as part of their everyday activities.
By having the opportunity to experience the bike on loan businesses can see how using this as a means of delivery and transport can help their business on the net zero journey. The use could be for commuting, deliveries around their local area or providing their service rather than from a van on bike.
For individuals having the experience of active travel on a daily basis and the ability to move shopping and children around with ease provides many benefits for being active and reducing fuel usage.
Nancy Chambers, Manager of the Cairngorms Trust comments ‘We are really excited to be able to add this e-cargo bike to our fleet and see what a difference it will make to businesses and individuals and help the reduction of car driven miles within the area.’
With the number of loans increasing every month through the project and should collecting the bike be an issue, delivery can be arranged.

The Bikes are available on loan from Aviemore Bikes for up to 6 weeks through the completion of a form on their website.
